Wendy Puppy

At 7 years young, she's not really a puppy anymore. At 75 pounds, she doesn't look like one either. But she is still a puppy at heart and she will still be my very first child. This year, amidst all the craziness from the move, we didn't celebrate her birthday - which is April 1st (April Fool's) - no kidding. So I thought better late than never, the kids and I got her a cute little birthday cake made out of homemade dog cookies complete with "icing" and "sprinkles".

Happy Birthday to our special girl!

Tiny puppy - she is hiding her then blue eyes!

Coming soon to my shop... (a 4th of July surprise)

What's red, white and blue with pretty flowers all over? This beautiful Ciao Bella dress from Janie and Jack! My girls have matching ones in their closet for the 4th of July.

Taking inspiration from this dress, guess what is coming to my shop? Hint - it's red, white, and blue with pretty flowers all over (with a headband to match)! A pretty picture will be up before the 4th of July (just in time for the fireworks).

Chocolate Flakies.

You wouldn't want to miss out on this yumminess. Found this recipe on a blog before the holidays - sorry I can't remember which one. But I've since made it for several occasions and has become one of my kids' favorite treats. I made these for my cousin's baby shower:

You will need: corn flakes, a really good chocolate bar (I used Hershey's Symphony), muffin cups, and optional ingredients that you want to add*

1. Melt the chocolate over boiling water (I used three full chocolate bars) - be careful not to burn the chocolate

2. Stir melted chocolate until smooth and creamy

3. Add your cornflakes (about 4 cups of cornflakes for the 3 bars) - just make sure that each cornflake has a good amount of chocolate coating. This is also the time to add any extra ingredients *.

*optional ingredients for adding: mini marshmallows, crushed nuts, Heath Toffee Bits,
mini M & M's, colored sprinkles, crushed peppermints

4. Pour in muffin cups and refrigerate until the chocolate hardens. ENJOY!!!

Sweet Month of May Part 2

We love New Canaan's May Fair at St. Marks. We go every year. There are lots of little rides for the kids. Little itty bitty rides.

Like this mini roller coaster:

My trusty assistant pushing his baby sister:

Mini motorcycles:

Mini trucks:

Peyton was still too little to go on any of the rides but she sure enjoyed hitching a ride on mommy's hip!

Skylar rode on this sweet miniature horse named Caramel - twice!

The Sweetest Skylar's Candy Clips Tea Party

But the sweetest part of May was the first ever Skylar's Candy Clips Tea Party hosted by a friend of mine at her house. She invited all the moms in her moms group and it was quite a success. 15% of the proceeds were donated to the March of Dimes foundation in honor of my cousin who had her first baby at 27 weeks (but doing quite well, thank you). We ended the Tea Party with a raffle from the Skylar's Candy Clips collection and 100% of the money went to March of Dimes as well.

To everyone who was involved in this event, thank you for making it successful. I am hoping to do another Tea Party this fall so stay tuned!
